Online Social Audio Apps : Talk more and many Features

Now social audio is here to stay, and so is the opportunity that comes along with it: for creators, networking, expressing ideas, monetizing and connecting with new friends in an immersive virtual way, In these, you can chat from the seat without looking at each other and discuss future technologies and business expanding.

 In the olden days, they used to sit under the tree and talk to each other. If they wanted to discuss an important matter, they would put up a fuss. Times have changed. Technology has evolved. There was a lot of online chatter and discussion. That's it... Social audio apps. 

In these, you can chat from the seat without looking at each other. While there are many popular social media apps for photo/video sharing, the demand for social audio apps is steadily increasing. In this background, let's take a look at the popular audio apps available so far.

1   Clubhouse

First, Clubhouse launched a social audio app for iOS users in America. Later introduced to Android users in other countries. In the early days, the app was only allowed to be used through the invite request feature. 

Later this method was removed. So more people started using this app. It is not possible to share photos, videos, and texts. Only what the speaker speaks can be heard. If you don't want to talk, click on the 'Do' symbol and the person who created the room will give you the opportunity. You can schedule the room to open at a time of your choice.

2   Twitter Spaces

Twitter has introduced an audio chat/discussion feature called Twitter Spaces. Click on the tweet compose/ plus icon in the app, Spaces button will appear. Click on it and a popup will appear saying Your Spaces. 

You have to type the name on which topic you want to start a discussion on and create spaces. Then everything works like a clubhouse. 

The created spaces can be tweeted directly from there. Spaces currently in use appear in Twitter Fleets. From there you can join. 

Note:  Anyone can join, listen, and speak in a Space on Twitter for iOS and Android.


3   Facebook Audio Live Rooms

Although it has the same features as Clubhouse, an additional podcast support feature is provided. It also has a fundraising feature. 

Facebook also has a Live Audio Rooms feature. First, this feature was made available to iOS users in America.  The person hosting the audio room can ask listeners for subscriptions. Facebook has put a limit on the number of speakers.

 Only 50 people can speak during the discussion. There is no limit on the number of listeners. Soon audio live rooms will be available in all countries including India.


4   Spotify Live

Spotify offers to talk with live favorite creators, artists and athletes, and more.

Spotify, which is attracting the youth with music and podcasts, has brought an audio social app called Live. Earlier it was called Greenroom. Those who have a Spotify account can log into Live with those details. 

After that, you can use this app just like the clubhouse. But it has an additional recording option. Spotty Live will record all the discussions in the room and email it to the host. After entering the audio room, you can find out how long the room has been live.


5   Truecaller Opendoors

After downloading the Truecaller Open Doors app, you need to allow it to access the contacts on the phone. You will be notified when someone in your contacts is participating in a discussion through Open Doors. 

If you want to participate in the discussion, you can click on the notification and start conversations and talk about the topics you like. Available in English, Hindi, Spanish, Latin, and French. Truecaller said that conversations conducted through this app are not stored anywhere. Users' phone numbers cannot be seen by others during conversations.


6   Linkedin Live Rooms

LinkedIn for Professionals introduced Audio rooms in March 2022 called Live Rooms. LinkedIn also offers Clubhouse-like features. Open the app and participate as a listener in any discussion found in it. 

If you want to speak in the discussion, send a request to the host. LinkedIn says that it will soon introduce video and chat features. The company said that through this, experts from different fields can easily share their views.
