Free Connect Remote Computers/ Laptops/ Phone 

Tools that connect phones, laptops, and PCs to remote computers are nothing new. Have been in use for a long time. But working from home has become a new trend and has been gaining popularity recently. 

If not most of these tools allow for free use for a while. Must buy later. It is not uncommon to buy such software online. Another way? For this, the free version of the remote desktop software is available in the Google Chrome browser. The extension can be activated with a small app.

Chrome Remote Desktops 

Chrome Remote Desktop can be used to secure a remote computer. Once connected it works without any interruptions. It takes a bit of hard work to set it up but lots of features can be used. 

To do this, first, open the Chrome browser on a remote computer (let's say the host) and go to the Chrome Web Store. Find the Chrome Remote Desktop extension and add it to your browser. Then go to 

https://remotedesktop.google.com 

and download and install the Chrome Remote Desktop app. 

This requires signing in with a Google Account. You need to give a name to the remote computer you want to use after installing the app. The pin must be set. 

Now you need to install the remote desktop extension and the app on the computer (assuming it is a guest) on the computer that you want to use away from. 

Then the two computers can be connected. You can use any of these as a host or guest.

1   How to Connect Remote computer with Chrome browser

Steps to  follow

• First Go to https://remotedesktop.google.com via guest computer and open Chrome Remote Desktop.
• Then both guest and host computers on the same Google account will appear. 
• Click on Host and enter the PIN. 
• Then the remote computer desktop appears in the new tab of the Chrome browser. 
• From here, you can do whatever you want with the keyboard and mouse. If you play music on a remote computer, you can hear it here too. 
• Bringing the mouse to the right edge of the browser screen and clicking on the blue circle with the left arrow will display a number of options that will help the host computer to view better. 
• Files can also be copied and shared by enabling clipboard synchronization.

2   For Repairs your computer/laptops/phone

If there is a problem with the PC, we can even show our computer to a technician or friend via a remote desktop. 

To do this, 

• Go to the Chrome Remote Desktop Homescreen and click on the remote support shown above. 
• Then the generate code button will appear. 
• This will create a one-time code and tell the technician. 
• There the technician will also need to open the Chrome Remote Desktop and click on Remote Support on the Home screen. 
• We will be able to see our computer as soon as we enter the code under giving support. 
• It is also easy to end a remote session. 
• Just close the tab. Or click on the blue circle with the left arrow and select Disconnect. 
• Chrome Remote Desktop can be used not only on Windows but also on Mac and Linux. 

Setting up on Linux is a bit different. This tool is available for mobile and tabs.
